Contact Me

Going through any sickness is difficult, but when it deals with your child, it’s devastating. As parents, we’re not meant to watch our children suffer!

If you have any questions about dealing with pediatric cancer, prematurity or just need to hear from someone who can offer some hope, feel free to contact me at jessica.bensten@gmail.com. It’s always nice to have a friend that knows what you’re going through.

    • Emma – be more than happy to check it out! Congrats on your preemie 🙂 Thanks for letting me know about your blog, I’m glad to see other Mommy M.D.s out there!

  1. I was sent your blog to read about not getting your FM System. My first words KEEP FIGHTING! Talk with your personal ENT and Audiologist. If you can get them on board with you that will help. I was told my daughter did not meet the educational need for one. It was a fight but I finally won. I do still hold my breath every annual meeting. However, we went through a 9 weeks where I did not know she was not using it and her grades dropped by an average of 10 points each subject, so I keep that with me every time. I know it’s fustrating but please do not let no be a no go with your gut!!!

  2. I stumbled across your blog as I was browsing Pintrest your story brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Your family is so strong. You have two adorable babies, that my heart pours out for. My husband and I were blessed with a perfect little boy July 8th 2013. He is the light of my life, and hearing stories of mothers that overcame as much as you have truly shows the greatness of God. Being a mom is hard even when you have healthy children. Again, my heart is over joyed your children are as perfect as they are now! God bless you.

    • Stacey,

What a great idea for a blog 🙂 When Jackson was diagnosed, all the blogs I found were sad. Things are different now, more and more are sharing their stories. I had to ban myself from the internet for awhile in the beginning. Researching Neuroblastoma was so depressing.

Sure, you can republish. I usually just ask that you link back and include my bio. If you search “cancer” on my blog, there are a few you might like to use as well: Never Second Guess a Second Opinion, 10 Doctors’ Quotes I’ll Never Forget, Why Am I feeling so beige? and This is What Cancer Looks Like. Let me know how I can be helpful!

      Jessica 🙂
