Introducing our Bonus Baby

7 Jan

Well hello there! Remember me?

It’s okay if you don’t, I don’t think I remember me either!

I took a hiatus from blogging, bathing and sleeping after the healthy delivery of our sweet “bonus” baby. Somehow, after months and months of not deciding on a name and calling him bonus, it stuck.

Henry Beau Bensten (see what we did there?) and I made it all the way to my scheduled c-section date of November 11. He was 37 1/2 weeks and came out crying and perfect at 6 lbs and 11 oz. I just laid there and wept pretty much the rest of the time in the OR.

It’s been a ride ever since.

Breastfeeding has been harder than I anticipated but we’re doing much better now. Henry has some reflux issues but is doing better on Zantac. He’s growing so fast now! My blood pressure went up after delivery and for the following few weeks, but it’s back to normal range (with meds). Throw in my birthday, Jackson’s birthday, Christmas, New Year’s, a couple colds, one round of pink eye and the stomach virus…and that about summarizes what we’ve been up to the past eight weeks.

I don’t have time for a long post, but I just wanted to introduce little Henry Beau to the Mothering Miracles blog. Looking forward to 2016 and sharing more with you guys!

  1. Congratulations Jessica. I am so happy to see so many happy faces surrounding baby Henry Beau. All three kids look so adorable!

  2. I have read a few blogs but yours touched my heart. My son was 11 when he had Burkitt’s Lymphoma. All cancer moms share a special bond. He is 21 and an amazing man. Thank you for your bog I have been sitting here reading it from diagnosis day to now.
